As the temperatures drop we go from sandals or flip flops to boots.  Not all boots are created equal.   Some boots can cause a variety of foot problems.

For example boots that are soft, have no arch support.  They usually have a fuzzy lining which can be a breeding ground for sweat causing odor or athlete’s foot.  They should only be worn for short periods of time.

Boots that have high heels can cause bunions, hammertoes or arthritis.  A boot with a high skinny heel can easily cause an ankle sprain or fracture if walking on slippery ground.

If your boots get wet, let them dry completely, at least 24 hours.

Wear acrylic fiber socks to keep moisture away, and change your socks at least once a day.

Remember to keep your feet healthy and happy, keep them clean and dry this winter season.
